(<- This entry is the only one based on in-store test, not home use) Here is a list of monitors I am sure that I CAN use for 12+ hours a day without any problem whatsoever:ġ. It seems to me there is something in the hardware (electronics or backlight itself) that has changed, but I can’t tell what. I have tried varying every characteristic of the monitors but have not been able to pinpoint the cause. I have done many dozens of hours of research on this topic and tried to pinpoint what characteristic of the monitor seems to be bothering me.

I tried varying EVERY setting, both in the monitor and in the environment, but something about the light or energy the monitors put off causes me to feel sick, even when the PC is off but the monitor is on with black screen! However after a recent gaming PC build, when I bought my first high-refresh rate monitor, I found I could not tolerate even 20 minutes of use on the spectacular Asus PG279Q “ROG Swift.” That started me down a path where I have now tried SEVEN new monitors and discovered I cannot tolerate any of them (see list below). In fact until 6 weeks ago, I hadn’t even conceived of the possibility that I could be sensitive to monitors.
I can use most standard lower-cost older LED monitors for ANY length of time with NO problem whatsoever. The ISSUE: I am experiencing physical side effects from many modern LED backlit monitors (disorientiation, eye strain, headache, general feeling of unease) that I did not experience before with other older LED backlit monitors at all. its loaded with features and you can run both Analogue and Digital to the screen simultaneously, and source switch between.I am writing this post to request ideas as to what modern monitor hardware differences may be causing the following issue for me, and to also potentially help anyone else who may be experiencing the same thing!
if you want a 225, just be sure its working and you wont be disapointed for a sharp image with true color, or even over enhanced. I am considering buying a few dead 225's and fixing them for my sons computer. if you have a little skill in fixing/replacing components, you can handle the replacement work if necessary. You' ll find several repair kits on ebay as well. I always recommend Samsung (even the 225 lemon is fantastic if its bee n repaired). i've had 2 units in almost constant operation for over 6 years, and this ebay 3rd unit we just purchased is performing perfectly. This is not a gaming monitor, dont expect wicked fast refresh rates, but these monitors were comparable with Apple cenema displays costing 4x as much designed for video and color work. Most "Working" 225s today have had the capacitors replaced and they are absolutely fantastic, and one of the most reliable monitos for color and lifespan i've used to-date in my video business. initially it was plauged with bad capacitors feeding the ilumination bars, and the manufacture discontined the monitor after relasing a replacement capacitor set.

The 225 series has become a fantastic monitor.
